The City of Texas City is home to more than 40 parks totaling up to 1,000 acres, making the city a destination for outdoor enthusiasts in Galveston County. The city’s most visited park is of course the Texas City Dike. The dike is the longest man-made pier in the world, extending 5.3 miles into Galveston Bay. It offers the comforts of a beach, recreational shore fishing areas, and of course several boat launches.
Texas City’s newest sports-plex can be found at the 48 acre Carlos Garza Sports Complex. This facility comes with baseball, softball, soccer, and football fields that are able to accommodate both youth and adult activities.
If shooting sports is your forte, the City of Texas City operates a municipal shooting range. This high quality facility offers rifle ranges from 25 to 100 yards, pistol ranges from three to 25 yards, two regulation skeet fields, one trap field, and one five stand field. The range has been a destination for professional and recreational attendees.
